Gorostiza Endowed Scholarship

The Gorostiza Endowed Scholarship will provide scholarship support to students pursuing a degree in a STEM major.

If you do not meet all of these requirements in a given term, you may lose your scholarship eligibility and your scholarship may be canceled.

Requirements:

  • All class levels are eligible.
  • Recipients must have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00, or the arithmetic equivalent.
  • Recipients must be pursuing a degree in a STEM major including: Computer Science, Computational Science, Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Geology, Astronomy, Mathematics and Statistics, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Management Information Systems.
  • Recipients must have participated/be currently participating in one of the following organizations: Society of Women Engineers; Women in Science Society; MESA: Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement; or CASA: Center for the Advancement of Students in Academia programs.
  • Undergraduate students are not required to be enrolled full-time.
  • Graduate students are not required to be enrolled full-time.

Supplemental Questions
  1. Recipients must have participated/be currently participating in one of the following organizations: Society of Women Engineers; Women in Science Society; MESA: Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement; or CASA: Center for the Advancement of Students in Academia. Please list the name of the organization(s) in which you have participated and the dates of participation.
  2. Please submit an essay (maximum 250 words) demonstrating engagement in campus activities that include community service, civic engagement, and leadership.
