Lauren C. Post Memorial Scholarship

Lauren C. Post was born in the prairie country of southwest Louisiana. He eventually left Louisiana and joined the Navy. He ultimately moved to Northern California. He attended the University of California at Berkeley, and it was there that he earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees. Professor Post went on to author “Cajun Sketches” and “Louisiana As It Is.”Lauren C. Post was a Geography professor at San Diego State University for 32 years. While at SDSU, Post had a tremendous impact. He established a scholarship fund and also instituted a Geography lecture fund to bring a distinguished geographer to the campus each year.

If you do not meet all of these requirements in a given term, you may lose your scholarship eligibility and your scholarship may be canceled.

Requirements:

  • Recipients must be studying in the Department of Geography.
  • Recipients must be upper-level juniors or seniors. Sophomore applicants must be a junior in the next academic year.
  • Undergraduate students are not required to be enrolled full-time.
