Martha Biehl Memorial Scholarship
The Martha Biehl Memorial Scholarship recognizes worthy students pursuing the major or minor in Classics or Humanities. It was organized by the first president of The Friends of Classics, Dr. Viola Granstaff. The Friends of Classics supports the Department of Classics and Humanities. Founded as a way to insure that classical studies — especially the study of classical Greek and Latin — would remain a viable and valued program at SDSU, the “Friends” continually seek out ways to recognize and reward undergraduates studying classics for their arduous devotion.
