Stephen L. Weber AVID Alumni Scholarship

The Stephen L. Weber AVID Alumni Scholarship will provide scholarship support to students in the Weber Honors College who completed an AVID course during their senior year in high school.

If you do not meet all of these requirements in a given term, you may lose your scholarship eligibility and your scholarship may be canceled.

Requirements:

  • Recipients must be continuing SDSU students entering their sophomore year in the year the award is received.
  • Recipients must be Weber Honors College students.
  • Applicants must have completed an AVID course during their senior year in high school.
  • Undergraduate students are not required to be enrolled full-time.

  1. Submit a copy of your unofficial high school transcript.
  2. In 200 words or less, discuss specific ways being involved in AVID pushed you to succeed in both high school and now college. Provide examples where AVID propelled you to enroll in rigorous classes, join on-campus clubs, or pursue outside interests that took you out of your comfort zone. What were the key takeaways from these experiences that you've now put into action in college? Are you a member of the AVID Community of Champions Alumni portal? Include the name of at least one AVID teacher you had in high school and how their lessons motivated you.
