Marilyn E. Newhoff and William G. Tong Endowed Scholarship in Music and Dance
The Marilyn E. Newhoff and William G. Tong Endowed Scholarship in Music and Dance will provide scholarship support to students in the School of Music and Dance in the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts who are engaged in activities related to the field of opera, classical music, or theater.
To apply for this scholarship, submit a General Application.
If you do not meet all of these requirements in a given term, you may lose your scholarship eligibility and your scholarship may be canceled.
Requirements:
- Recipients must be engaged in activities related to the field of opera, classical music, or theater. Activities include being a vocalist in an ensemble, participating in an SDSU music ensemble, or participating as an orchestra student who plays in the pit for opera.
- Recipients must be majoring in any music degree within SDSU’s School of Music and Dance.
- All class levels are eligible.
- Recipients must have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, or the arithmetic equivalent.
- Graduate students are not required to be enrolled full-time.
- Undergraduate students are not required to be enrolled full-time.
