Global Health Legacy Endowed Scholarship
The Global Health Legacy Endowed Scholarship supports upper-division and graduate students at San Diego State University and is open to all majors who are active in SDSU’s Chinese Cultural Center. This scholarship will provide financial support to students who have demonstrated a commitment to global health through academic achievements and community engagement. It seeks to empower students actively contributing to efforts that address health disparities and improve health outcomes in underserved populations.
If you do not meet all of these requirements in a given term, you may lose your scholarship eligibility and your scholarship may be canceled.
Requirements:
- All majors are eligible.
- Juniors, seniors, and graduate students are eligible.
- Recipients must actively participate in programming through SDSU’s Chinese Cultural Center, which is open to all who wish to join.
- Recipients must have financial need, as determined by the SDSU Office of Financial Aid.
- Applicants must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act by the scholarship opportunity’s deadline for financial need to be determined.
- Recipients are not required to be enrolled full-time.

- Please submit an essay detailing a personal experience, activity through the Chinese Cultural Center, and/or SDSU course you have taken (such as BIOL 212) that made you aware of real-world issues in global health. Please discuss how these experiences led you to take further actions to address health conditions for marginalized communities, including volunteer work, creating proposals, and/or interning locally or abroad. Please indicate how these further actions helped tackle global health challenges and promote diversity and cultural understanding.
