Reggie Smith Memorial Scholarship
Reggie Smith was an editor of The Daily Aztec and a journalist with major California newspapers. This memorial scholarship was made possible by donations from his friends and coworkers, primarily those at the Los Angeles Times.
To apply for this scholarship, submit a General Application.
If you do not meet all of these requirements in a given term, you may lose your scholarship eligibility and your scholarship may be canceled.
Requirements:
- Recipients must be pursuing a Journalism major in the School of Journalism and Media Studies in the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts.
- Recipients must be actively involved with the Black Resource Center, which is open to all who wish to join and/or be involved in African-American Community Activities, either on- or off-campus
- Recipients must have financial need, as determined by the SDSU Financial Aid Office.
- Applicants must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application by the scholarship opportunity’s deadline for financial need to be determined.
- Recipients must have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00, or the arithmetic equivalent.
- Undergraduate students are not required to be enrolled full-time.
- Graduate students are not required to be enrolled full-time.
