Steven Michael Rogers Scholarship in Mathematics

The Steven Michael Rogers Scholarship in Mathematics will provide scholarship support to students in the Mathematics department in the College of Sciences.

If you do not meet all of these requirements in a given term, you may lose your scholarship eligibility and your scholarship may be canceled.

Requirements:

  • Recipients must be enrolled in a Mathematics major.
  • Recipients must be a Junior or Senior.
  • Recipients must be enrolled full-time.
  • Recipients must have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00, or the arithmetic equivalent.
  • Recipients must be currently employed.
  • Recipients must be United States citizens or United States permanent residents.
  • This scholarship requires a letter of recommendation/reference. Referees must submit letters of recommendation/references by the application deadline in order for your application to be complete and considered by the committee. Referees cannot log into Aztec Scholarships until you submit your application. Applications that have fewer than the required number of reference letters will not be reviewed.

  1. Submit a letter from your employer verifying part-time or full-time employment and providing a brief evaluation of your contributions as an employee. An email will be sent to your employer to submit the letter electronically.
  2. Submit an essay that addresses the following two items: How earning the degree will allow the student professional accomplishments and how they will be a contributing citizen ten years from the receipt of the scholarship.
