Shiley Scholarship in Bioengineering

The Shiley Scholarship in Bioengineering will provide annual support for undergraduate scholarships in bioengineering.

If you do not meet all of these requirements in a given term, you may lose your scholarship eligibility and your scholarship may be canceled.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate recipients must be upper division (junior or seniors) students pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering with a concentration in bioengineering.
  • Recipients must have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00, or the arithmetic equivalent.
  • Scholarship awards are not renewable, but recipients are encouraged to reapply.
  • Undergraduate students are not required to be enrolled full-time.

  1. Submit an (approximately 500 words) essay describing your chosen field of study and how it relates to a career in life sciences research or chronic disease prevention. You should explain your past leadership/service activities and why this makes you a good candidate for this scholarship.
