Stephanie Jennings Endowed Scholarship in Social Justice
The Stephanie Jennings Endowed Scholarship in Social Justice will provide scholarship support to students pursuing a degree in the College of Arts and Letters.
If you do not meet all of these requirements in a given term, you may lose your scholarship eligibility and your scholarship may be canceled.
Requirements:
- All class levels are eligible.
- Undergraduate recipients must have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.50 out of 4.00, or the arithmetic equivalent.
- Graduate recipients must have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00, or the arithmetic equivalent.
- Recipients must have financial need, as determined by the SDSU Financial Aid Office.
- Applicants must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act by the scholarship opportunity’s deadline for financial need to be determined.
- Recipients must be pursuing one of the following degrees in the College of Arts and Letters:
o Africana Studies – Bachelor
o Chicano and Chicana Studies – Bachelor
o Chicano and Chicana Studies – Master
o LGBTQ Studies – Bachelor
o Asian Studies – Bachelor
o Asian Studies – Master
o American Indian Studies – Bachelor
o Women’s Studies – Bachelor
o Women’s Studies – Master
o Political Science – Bachelor
o Political Science – Master
o Sustainability – Bachelor - Recipients must display a commitment to social justice and promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) goals.
- Undergraduate students are not required to be enrolled full-time.
- Graduate students are not required to be enrolled full-time.

- Applicants must respond to a prompt about their commitment to social justice and the promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) goals (up to 300 words): Please demonstrate how you champion social justice and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in your community. Describe specific personal examples of how you have engaged in and promoted social justice causes and DEI. For example: involvement in political action, working, volunteering, and/or interning with social justice/DEI organizations. List the organization, specific activity, and the dates of your involvement.
