Dr. Ora B. Gordon, MD and CAPT Lance B. Gordon, USN (Ret.) Endowed Scholarship for the Center of War and Society
The Dr. Ora B. Gordon, MD and CAPT Lance B. Gordon, USN (Ret.) Endowed Scholarship for the Center of War and Society will be utilized by the College of Arts and Letters to provide scholarship support to graduate students pursuing their master’s degree and who are active duty service members, reservists, National Guard, and/or veterans of the United States Armed Forces, or who are pursuing a major in History with a concentration in War and Society or Political Science, or who are involved in activities or coursework through the Center for War and Society in the College of Arts and Letters at SDSU.
If you do not meet all of these requirements in a given term, you may lose your scholarship eligibility and your scholarship may be canceled.
Requirements:
- Recipient(s) must be pursuing a master’s degree.
- Recipient(s) must be one of the following:
o majoring in History with a concentration in War and Society or Political Science;
o active duty service members, reservists, National Guard, and/or veterans of the United States Armed Forces; or
o involved in activities or taken courses through the Center for War and Society in the College of Arts and Letters at SDSU - Recipients must have financial need, as determined by the SDSU Financial Aid Office.
- Graduate students are not required to be enrolled full-time.

- Please discuss, in 300 words or less, your personal and scholarly interest in the critical role of stability and community-building operations in post-conflict environments. Please include a potential research agenda that contributes to a better understanding of fostering social and economic stability within war-impacted communities.
