John & Jeanette Hebbel Gerontology/Geriatrics Internship Scholarship
The Jeanette and John Hebbel Endowed Gerontology/Geriatrics Internship Scholarship is intended for students who have demonstrated a commitment to continue their education and training in health and human service area(s) related to services to older people. The scholarship will provide not only moderate monetary support, but will be an incentive for students to go further in the fields of Gerontology and Geriatrics.
To apply for this scholarship, submit a General Application.
If you do not meet all of these requirements in a given term, you may lose your scholarship eligibility and your scholarship may be canceled.
Requirements:
- Recipients must be pursing a program of study in, or related to, Aging, Gerontology, and/or Geriatrics.
- Recipients will have completed or currently be taking a minimum of three upper division courses in Aging, Gerontology, and/or Geriatrics.
- Recipients must have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00, or the arithmetic equivalent.
- Recipients must complete an internship of at least one semester serving the aging population in an elderly care setting.
- Recipients must be enrolled in an internship course during the semester for which the funds are awarded.
- Finalists may be interviewed by faculty associated with the Aging/Gerontology program on campus.
- Recipient(s) are not required to be enrolled full-time.
