Marilyn E. Newhoff Endowed Fellowship
This endowed fellowship will provide support to students in the Joint Doctoral Program in Language and Communicative Disorders in the College of Health and Human Services.
If you do not meet all of these requirements in a given term, you may lose your scholarship eligibility and your scholarship may be canceled.
Requirements:
- Recipients must be students pursuing a doctoral degree in Language and Communicative Disorders in the School of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at San Diego State University.
- Recipients must have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.20 out of 4.00, or the arithmetic equivalent.
- Recipients must be doctoral students.
- Recipients must maintain a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.20 in order to be eligible for renewal consideration.
- Doctoral students are not required to be enrolled full-time.
- This scholarship requires one letter of recommendation/reference. Referees must submit letter of recommendation/reference by the application deadline in order for your application to be complete and considered by the committee. Referees cannot log into Aztec Scholarships until you submit your application. Applications that have fewer than the required number of reference letters will not be reviewed.

- Submit a letter of recommendation from a current SDSU research mentor. An email will be sent to the recommender to submit the letter electronically.
- Upload an unofficial copy of your undergraduate academic transcript.

- Upload an academic style curriculum vitae.
- Submit an essay of approximately 500 words that describes what encouraged you to pursue your area of research. Include specific research accomplishments during the academic year, and your 10-year career plan.
