Oliva Espin Endowed Scholarship

Given by Professor Emerita Oliva Espín, this scholarship is available to students in the SDSU Women’s Studies M.A. Program who are entering their second year of study or beyond and who have a thesis advisor. The student’s research should focus upon lesbian women and/or women of color. Scholarships of up to $1,000 may be awarded to defray travel and other expenses related to research or its presentation.

If you do not meet all of these requirements in a given term, you may lose your scholarship eligibility and your scholarship may be canceled.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be entering their second year of study or beyond in the SDSU Women’s Studies M.A. Program and have a thesis advisor.
  • Applicants must be pursuing research that focuses on lesbian women and/or women of color.
  • Graduate students must be enrolled at least part-time to remain eligible for this scholarship.
