Gilda Johnson Shumate Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship will provide scholarship support to SDSU students who are pursuing a degree or credential, are currently educators or plan to be educators and are involved with SDSU’s Black Resource Center, a recognized student organization which is open to all who wish to join.

If you do not meet all of these requirements in a given term, you may lose your scholarship eligibility and your scholarship may be canceled.

Requirements:

  • Juniors, seniors, credential and graduate students are eligible.
  • Credential and graduate students must be enrolled in the College of Education.
  • Recipients must have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00, or the arithmetic equivalent.
  • Undergraduates must be enrolled full-time.
  • Graduates must be enrolled at least part-time to remain eligible for this scholarship.
  • Credential students must be enrolled at least part-time to remain eligible for this scholarship.
  • Recipients must be involved with SDSU’s Black Resource Center, a recognized student organization which is open to all who wish to join.
