LaPray & Schmock Scholarship
Drs. Joyce Schmock and Margaret LaPray developed their careers at SDSU specializing in motivating reluctant readers, instructing creative writing classes, and in organizing Children’s Literature curriculums. They drew on the community participation of resources such as Cole’s Book Store and eminent author-illustrators such as Maurice Sendak. In addition, Schmock and LaPray worked on government-backed research and helped in the completion of the Houghton Mifflin Primary readers. Individuals who have applied to, or are currently enrolled in, the Multiple Subject Credential program are invited to apply for the LaPray & Schmock Scholarship.
